Finding the secret of the wind is hard enough without Mole wandering off into the Wild Wood and getting caught in a snowstorm or Toad steling motorcars and landing in jail. Between practical Water Rat and wise old Badget, the four of them manage, after many great adventures and much laughter, to settle down to a quiet roar with an understanding of the wind's song and the Wild Wood.
Kenneth Grahame was born in England in 1859, was a banker by trade but revelled in the telling of tales of Toad and his friend with his only son. From those tales developed The Wind in the Willows which has become one of the most cherished classics in literature.
