SEUMPAMA DI SEMASA KOTA TUA
Semasa di Kota Tua stole our attention ever since they started. This monthly initiative brought local and creative brands to the midst of the charming buildings of Kota Tua, Jakarta’s Old Town area. We both were obsessed with old buildings and have always dreamt on finding Seumpama in such place, so when we were invited to join we easily said, “Yes!”
The excitement mounted. Being in an old building that had been a part of history always gave us shiver. We think it’s also a great way to bring people to Kota Tua area in a hipper way. The charm of Jakarta’s old town is sometimes demeaned by its rather chaotic traffic and heat. The area may not give the best walking experience, but – like the experience of We made great new friends, our next door neighbour is the talented Galih Wismoyo whose watercolour hand-drawing was transferred unto beautiful scarves, we couldn’t stop ourselves to stop by every couple of hours to his lot, wanting to bring all home with us. Two lot farther, was Nita Amelia whose works were of delicate and adorable wittiness – if you understand what we mean.
Lots of you came and talked with us. Conversing with you has always been a highlight of our pop-ups, and at Semasa di Kota Tua, we never lack on topic to talk about. So, thank you so much.
We’re looking forward to the next time we’ll meet again. It may take a while since both Ninit and I are working on our personal side project(s), but sometime before the year end, hopefully we can bring something special for you.
Cheers.
